Evelyn Oliver and Darell Brown, proprietors of Organic Bed Stuy were $5,000 richer as they claimed second place in Brooklyn Public Library’s 6th Annual Power Up! Business Plan competition. Answering a growing need for healthy eating choices in a community over saturated by fast food, the pair opened their Organic Bed Stuy which offers fresh and local produce while focusing on the cultural make up the neighborhood.
