7th ANNUAL NATIONAL URBAN ENTREPRENEURS CONFERENCE

October 25, 2007 (Harlem, USA) - The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) will once again serve as the official North East regional partner for the National Urban Entrepreneurs Conference and Business Seminar. Launched in 1999, this luncheon will include a keynote address from renowned political commentator TV personality NY1 News’, Dominic Carter.

The New York event, which is co-chaired by U.S. Congressman Charles B. Rangel, NY State Assemblyman, Keith Wright and New York City Councilwoman, Inez Dickens, is geared toward business and professional savvy entrepreneurs and small businesses preparing to take their company to the next level. The workshop will take place Saturday, November 3, 2007, at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building 2nd Floor Art Gallery, West 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd.

Entrepreneurs between the ages of 21-35 are encouraged to enter the annual business plan competition for a chance to win a $35,000 national grant; $15,000 regional grant; and $5,000 local grant per market.

The day will feature four informative workshops. They are: 1) “How to Get a Yes! Presenting Your Plan to Investors”; 2) Hook Them Up From the Start! – Defining Your Business; 3) “Do The Math“- Knowing Your Market is Critical and 4) “Knowing & Understanding Your Financials.” As an added bonus, GHCC will include an additional panel discussion on the “Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE)” program where participants can pick up valuable information on how to become officially certified to do business with the city and state of New York.

The event is open to the public therefore seating is limited on a first reserved basis.
